The Role
The Trader & Advisor Solutions Partner will be an early and instrumental member of the Sage team. You will deliver the precision execution that defines our value while also contributing to the refinement of our processes and the growth of the firm.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial professional who combines strong technical trading expertise with confidence in client-facing environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with prospective advisors, representing Sage in introductory meetings, and leading a thoughtful, organized onboarding experience.
This role is best suited for someone who thinks like an owner — someone who takes initiative, contributes ideas, and is motivated by helping build scalable systems within a mission-driven, women-owned business.
Key Responsibilities
Client Partnership & Onboarding

Serve as a professional point of contact for advisor trading and operational requests.

Confidently participate in introductory meetings with prospective clients and articulate Sage’s trading philosophy, process, and value proposition.

Lead new client onboarding by gathering necessary information, documenting procedures, and implementing trading workflows within the advisor’s existing tech stack.

Collaborate with custodians (Schwab, Fidelity, Altruist) and technology partners to resolve issues efficiently.
Process Ownership & Firm Development

Take ownership of assigned advisor relationships and trading workflows.

Contribute to the development, documentation, and refinement of standardized trading procedures to enhance scalability.

Provide informed input on trading best practices, operational efficiencies, and system improvements.

Identify opportunities to strengthen client experience and support the continued growth of Sage.
Trade Execution & Portfolio Management
-
Execute daily trades (ETFs, equities, mutual funds, fixed income) across multiple custodial and portfolio management platforms.

Implement rebalances, model allocations, cash raises, and one-off trade requests with precision and timeliness.

Perform next-day reconciliation to ensure accuracy and promptly resolve discrepancies or settlement issues.

Monitor portfolios for drift, liquidity needs, and alignment with client-specific Investment Policy Statements.
Tax-Aware & Specialized Trading

Proactively identify and execute tax-aware trading strategies, including tax-loss harvesting and lot-level optimization.

Manage account-level complexities such as restrictions, legacy holdings, carve-outs, RMD tracking, and dollar-cost averaging schedules.

Exercise strong judgment in balancing tax efficiency, compliance, and client objectives.
Required Qualifications & Skills

2–3+ years of experience in wealth management, trading, or investment operations.

Demonstrated experience trading client portfolios using professional portfolio management software.

Working knowledge of Tamarac and other trading platforms (Orion Eclipse, iRebal, Black Diamond) and major custodians (Schwab, Fidelity, Altruist, Raymond James) strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of tax implications related to trading and the ability to execute with meticulous accuracy.

Comfort operating independently in a growing entrepreneurial environment.

Ability to manage client relationships professionally while contributing to process improvement and firm growth.T

Current Series 65 license required.
Position & Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to Laura Nowinski, Founder & Principal Trader.
Starting annual salary: $72,800.

Trading Associate

The Role
The Trading Associate serves as a key member of Sage Trading Collective's trading operations team. This role supports portfolio trading, account maintenance, reconciliation, and advisor service activities across multiple custodians and portfolio management platforms.
This position is ideal for an individual who is eager to develop expertise in wealth management trading and portfolio operations. The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and accountability are essential.
Working closely with senior traders and leadership, the Trading Associate will gain hands-on experience in portfolio implementation, tax-aware trading strategies, account management, and operational workflows while contributing to the exceptional service Sage provides to independent advisory firms.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Support & Execution

Assist with the implementation of daily trades across ETFs, equities, mutual funds, and fixed-income securities.

Execute routine rebalances, cash raises, model updates, and one-off trade requests under established procedures.

Review trade files and account data to ensure accuracy prior to execution.

Monitor trading activity and escalate exceptions or issues promptly.
Account Operations & Reconciliation
-
Perform daily and next-day reconciliation of trading activity.
-
Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies, settlement issues, and operational exceptions.
-
Assist with account maintenance tasks, including account restrictions, standing instructions, and client-specific requirements.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of trading activity and operational procedures.
Portfolio Administration
-
Support the implementation of model portfolios across custodial and portfolio management systems.

Assist with monitoring portfolio drift, cash balances, and investment allocations.

Help manage recurring account activities such as dollar-cost averaging schedules, systematic withdrawals, and required minimum distributions (RMDs).

Assist in identifying tax-loss harvesting opportunities and lot-level trading considerations.
Process & Team Support

Follow and contribute to standardized operating procedures and trading workflows.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability within the trading process.

Support onboarding activities for new advisor relationships by assisting with data gathering, account setup, and workflow implementation.

Collaborate with custodians and technology vendors to troubleshoot operational issues.
Required Qualifications & Skills

1–3 years of experience in wealth management, investment operations, trading support, or a related financial services role.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Working knowledge of investment accounts, portfolio management concepts, and trading processes.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial technology platforms.

Experience with custodians such as Schwab, Fidelity, Altruist, or Raymond James preferred.

Familiarity with portfolio management and trading systems such as Tamarac, Orion Eclipse, iRebal, or Black Diamond preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Series 65 license or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Experience supporting advisor-managed portfolios or investment operations.

Basic understanding of tax-aware trading concepts and portfolio rebalancing methodologies.
